by the way, i have read something about a proxy server here in Centelles with free internet access, can you give me more details, i haven`t understud much in catalan.

connecting with laptops.
Our network is primarily suited for stable connections from the homes, not laptops, just a very few access points are really ready for laptop connections, and I think is not the case in Centelles.
Once you get connected with an stable node, then you can get an username and password to get access thorugh the proxys.
Buenas !!
i`m connected, or it is just a "pseudo connection" ??
Thank you for your answer in english.
now i`m posting from the laptop i`m talking about above, connected to the guifi network.
but if i try to use the proxy it does not request a user and password as it should, i think that the AP that i`m conected to does not have the routing rule set, or simply does not have a connection with the proxy server. Anyway i will go to the PIPA tomorrow or tuesday to see wich Ap`s are suitable for this connection and if they can give an user and pass for the proxy server access.
Thank`s again.
We'll, I'm just in the hope you will learn Catalan :)
In the meantime, Knoppix suggestions for translation might help you on that.
(Knoppix, mirem a veure si el podem ajudar una mica, el català esperem que ja l'anirà aprenent, però ara el pobre home va mes despistat...).
If you was able to post this message to the guifi.net web forum using your laptop, it means that you got connected to the network. El Pipa, as well as about dozens of other proxies, are also connected to the network, and in order to gain access to them you will need to manually configure your browser to one of them, i.e. for elpipa you have to go to your connection network preferences and tell that you'll use proxy.elpipa.guifi.net at the port 3128 as a proxy. Then you'll be asked for the username & password.
You'll see detailed information about elpipa configuration at:
http://guifi.net/node/8258
An about all the other proxies:
http://guifi.net/ca/node/2413/view/services
But please, and again, take into account that Centelles is not currently enabled for connections from laptops although you got connected. The network is open, but you might be using someone's else IP's, on the begining we enabled the DHCP and that's why because you got connected, but now the nodes are getting full of connections and we should disable it and allow only connections from stable nodes at their homes with regular antennas (laptops have low gain antennas for short distances and therefore stress the network). We might ban your laptop to get connected to the network because of connecting with it in a zone where is not expected to do so... To gain your regular connection and your username and password you should not use your laptop directly to connect to the AP, you should buy your router & antenna, make a stable connection, and then use that. Is what knoppix have been trying to tell you.
Thank`s !!!
Well, for now i can not buy a router and antenna because i do not work anywhere, i`ve worked a month in meat industry but the factory has been selled. When i will be able to buy these i will, for now i will try to get the user and pass from pipa and use pipa`s proxy. Thanks again !!!

There are some areas enabled for laptops...
In Plaça Major, at Vic, or Calldetenes...
From there you can connect even without a username, just as a guest.
You don't have a residence anywhere?
For now i do not have a residence in VIC
I`m looking for a job in vic, if i get one i will rent an apartment there, for now i`m living in Centelles, and waiting for oportunities
. Anyway, thank you for all the info !
